Stu Nicholls at CSSPlay tried to put some extra left and right padding on hover, so that when the mouse is moved a small distance off the top or bottom of the dropline then the dropline will stay open. But as so many solutions trying to fix that situation, Ben Kamen remembered of the apple menu. Menu-aim is a jQuery plugin for dropdown menus that can differentiate between a user trying hover over a dropdown item vs trying to navigate into a submenu's contents.
